OPPO Reno 12 series launch date in India: A day after OPPO announced the OPPO Reno 12 series’ launch date in China, the company has now revealed the rear design of the devices via a teaser. With the Reno 12 series, we’re expecting at least two devices to launch on May 23rd: the vanilla Reno 12 and the flagship Reno 12 Pro.

The OPPO Reno 12 series will likely make its way to the Indian shores shortly after its China debut. While we wait for that to happen, let’s take a closer look at the devices’ rear design and what we can expect regarding hardware specifications.

The teaser reveals that the company is going for a glossy finish with the Reno 12 series.

The unique design of the back surface houses the OPPO logo at the bottom and a triple camera setup tucked in a rectangular island at the top left corner.

Moreover, the camera island has an “AI camera system” engraved on it. The teaser shows that the device will come in two shades: Silver and Purple.

OPPO Reno 12 series specifications (expected)

  • Display: The OPPO Reno 12 series will flaunt a 6.7-inch OLED panel with 2772 x 1240 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1600 nits peak brightness.
  • Processor: The Reno 12 is tipped to be the first phone to feature the Dimensity 8250 chipset. On the other hand, the flagship Reno 12 Pro will draw power from the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Star Speed Edition SoC.
  • RAM/Storage: The Reno 12 series will ship with 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. The devices might also support virtual RAM.
  • Cameras: As the teaser reveals, the Reno 12 series will feature a triple-camera setup. We’re expecting a 50MP primary Sony IMX890 sensor with support for OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP 2x telephoto shooter. The front will house a 50MP snapper for selfies and video chat.
  • Battery: The Reno 12 series will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 80W SuperVOOC charging.
